Large amounts of unlicensed medicines have been seized by Department of Health officials throughout a search of a home in Glengormley.

A male was talked to by department officers about unlawfully importing and subsequently supplying unlicensed impotence medications via the web.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other .

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, said: "It is crucial that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medicines can be dangerous.

"These types of items being offered, usually online, have gone through no quality assurance and there can be no guarantee about their security.

"You simply do not know what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More notably, you do not understand the result drugs like this may have on your health."
